Your engineers already ask an AI agent to write code, read logs, and open pull requests. With agentic FinOps, the same agent answers what a team spent, explains a spike, and carries out a saving, inside limits your admins set.

We read each vendor's own documentation and pricing pages to see what its agent can answer, what it can change, where it runs, and which controls an admin holds. We make LevelFour, so it comes first. Each section links to that vendor's own page.

1. LevelFour

LevelFour puts cost and savings inside the AI agents your engineers already use, with the same roles and activity log as the dashboard.

  • A hosted MCP server with read and write tools over spend and savings. From Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Antigravity, or any MCP client, an agent can ask what each team cost, check whether a provider spiked, and roll the next saving out.
  • Sign-in from the client, with no key to copy. An organization admin approves the connection.
  • Roles that hold in every client: Admins apply savings, Members prepare them and send each one to an admin, and Viewers read.
  • The FinOps Agent in the dashboard, full screen or in a panel beside the page you are on. It answers from the costs, savings, and commitments the dashboard shows, and records a decision on a saving only after you confirm it on a card.
  • A LevelFour agent in Slack, on the Enterprise plan, that investigates a budget alert in its own thread, and the l4 CLI for the same questions from a terminal or a CI job.
  • Savings that go live by the route your team picks: applied in your cloud with write access scoped to that one change, or as an infrastructure-as-code pull request. Savings Audit then confirms each one on your bill.

Pricing: Cloud Savings costs 30% of realized savings, and nothing if nothing is saved. Governance & Visibility plans start at $30 a month, MCP server included. See pricing.

Best for: engineering teams that want their AI agents to answer cost questions and ship the savings.

2. Vantage

Vantage pairs its cost reports with a FinOps Agent that answers questions in the console and acts on AWS from Slack.

  • Remediation on AWS: Compute Savings Plans, Reserved Instances for RDS, OpenSearch, ElastiCache, and Redshift, and rightsizing.
  • Two approval modes: the agent acts on its own, or a Vantage account Owner approves in Slack.
  • A hosted MCP server with 153 tools that read Vantage data and create, update, and delete reports, budgets, virtual tags, and dashboards.
  • Agent chat for every customer, trials included. Automated cleanups, which Vantage's pricing page lists on its Enterprise plan, cost 10% of the savings they realize. Vantage FinOps Agent.

Best for: AWS teams that want commitment and rightsizing actions run from Slack.

3. Finout

Finout adds AI to its MegaBill cost model: Billy, a FinOps assistant, and agents for detection, investigation, and orchestration, in beta.

  • Billy, which answers cost questions inside Finout and takes follow-ups.
  • In beta, a Detection agent that scans cloud, Kubernetes, AI, and SaaS spend, and an Investigation agent that traces root cause, blast radius, and ownership.
  • In beta, an Orchestration agent that proposes changes such as rightsizing, commitment purchases, and idle cleanup, and routes them for approval in Slack, Jira, or ServiceNow, with auto-apply opt-in per workflow.
  • A hosted MCP server with 30 tools for Claude, Cursor, and other clients. Finout.

Best for: FinOps teams that want findings investigated and routed through the approval tools they already use.

4. CloudZero

CloudZero brings its allocation and unit cost data into coding agents and into its own AI Hub.

  • AI Hub, natural-language analysis of your AI spend, powered by Claude.
  • A hosted MCP server with 30 tools, set up in one step for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, VS Code, and other clients, plus a Claude Code plugin.
  • Tools that create insights and monitors, update incidents, and open a Jira or ServiceNow ticket for an incident. The monitor and incident tools are in preview.
  • MCP included in its single subscription. CloudZero MCP server.

Best for: teams that want unit cost analysis inside the coding agents their engineers use.

5. Harness

Harness builds AI into Cloud & AI Cost Management and into the MCP server it ships for the whole Harness platform.

  • Ask AI, which answers questions on spend, commitments, and trends, and creates Perspectives, Cost Categories, and Asset Governance rules from a plain description.
  • An official MCP server, hosted by Harness or run on your own machine, that creates and updates cost perspectives and AI budgets, sets recommendation states, and opens Jira or ServiceNow tickets.
  • A read-only mode for the MCP server that blocks every write.
  • Part of Harness's Enterprise plan. Harness MCP server.

Best for: teams that build and deploy with Harness and want cost in the same agent.

6. nOps

nOps runs Clara, an AI FinOps agent, next to its commitment automation.

  • FinOps Agent Mode, which runs scheduled tasks for anomaly detection, waste discovery, trends, and reports.
  • Clara in Slack, which answers follow-up questions in the thread and posts scheduled reports.
  • An MCP server with skills such as commitment analysis and commitment recommendations, for Claude Desktop, Cursor, and other clients. nOps FinOps agent.

Best for: teams that want recurring FinOps analysis delivered by an agent.

7. Cloudchipr

Cloudchipr calls its agent Finch, a FinOps AI employee for AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.

  • Finch, which answers business questions about cost, explains spend changes, and flags idle resources after asking the owner.
  • Finch in Slack, Microsoft Teams, or the Cloudchipr app, with a person's yes before any change reaches production.
  • A hosted MCP server with 25 tools across billing, savings opportunities, live resources, Kubernetes, and accounts.
  • Published platform prices from $49 a month for up to $5,000 of monthly cloud spend, with a 14-day trial, and Ask AI from the Pro plan at $890 a month. Cloudchipr AI agents.

Best for: teams that want a cost assistant in Slack or Teams.

8. DoiT

DoiT Cloud Intelligence includes an AI assistant for cost and cloud questions across AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, and Oracle Cloud.

  • An assistant that answers questions, summarizes anomalies, and builds Cloud Analytics reports in the console, in Slack, or through the API.
  • Connections to remote MCP servers such as Linear and GitHub, where write tools ask before they run and destructive tools stay off until an admin turns them on.
  • A Terraform PR agent, in early access, that proposes Terraform changes through GitHub pull requests.
  • A hosted or local MCP server that follows the permissions of the DoiT API. DoiT AI assistant.

Best for: teams on DoiT that want an assistant wired into their other tools.

9. Datadog Cloud Cost Management

Datadog Cloud Cost Management brings its Bits AI agent and its automation engine to cloud cost.

  • A Cloud Cost skill in Bits Chat for root cause analysis, budget tracking, and cost questions, opened from an anomaly or with Ask Bits.
  • Cost Optimization Automations that delete unused resources or move volumes, tables, and buckets to cheaper classes on AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure on a schedule, with an optional approval step in Slack or Microsoft Teams. They run on Datadog Workflows, which carry their own charge.
  • Pull requests from Bits Code that implement some S3, DynamoDB, and Kubernetes recommendations in Terraform or Helm.
  • A cost recommendations tool in the Datadog MCP Server. Datadog Cost Optimization Automation.

Best for: teams that already run their observability on Datadog.

10. Cast AI

Cast AI adds an assistant, OpsPilot, to its Kubernetes automation platform.

  • OpsPilot, which answers questions about your clusters, costs, and database optimization in the Cast AI console.
  • Guided policy generation that creates and updates Workload Autoscaler scaling policies.
  • Agents, in private preview, that open pull requests to update Helm charts and Kubernetes manifests, Dockerfiles, and database indexes.
  • Autoscaling, Spot, and rightsizing applied within your policies. Cast AI OpsPilot.

Best for: platform teams that run Kubernetes on Cast AI.

How to choose

Start with what you want the agent to do. Every platform here answers cost questions. They differ on action: which changes the agent can make, on which clouds, and whether a change lands in your cloud, in a pull request, or in a ticket.

Then look at where your people work. If your engineers live in Claude Code or Cursor, the MCP server matters most, so check what its tools can do. If your FinOps team lives in Slack, check what the Slack agent can carry out. Last, check what your admins control: who may act, which actions wait for approval, and where each action is logged.

LevelFour answers cost questions and ships savings from the AI tools your team already uses. See what LevelFour can save you in 5 minutes, with read-only access.

Frequently asked questions

What is agentic FinOps?

Agentic FinOps uses AI agents to do FinOps work: answer cost questions, investigate anomalies, and carry out savings, within limits a person sets. The agent works through a FinOps platform's data and permissions, from an MCP client such as Claude Code or Cursor, from Slack, or inside the platform. What is the Model Context Protocol?.

Which FinOps platforms have an MCP server?

Of the platforms in this guide, LevelFour, Vantage, Finout, CloudZero, Harness, nOps, Cloudchipr, DoiT, and Datadog document an MCP server. LevelFour's has read and write tools over spend and savings, so an agent can roll a saving out. Connect an MCP client to LevelFour.

Can an AI agent change my cloud resources?

Some can, within limits you set. LevelFour applies a saving with write access scoped to that one change, or ships it as a pull request, and your guardrails decide which savings go live on their own. Vantage's FinOps Agent acts on AWS from Slack, and Datadog runs cost automations with an optional approval step. How a LevelFour saving rolls out.

How much do agentic FinOps platforms cost?

LevelFour's Cloud Savings costs 30% of realized savings, and Governance & Visibility plans start at $30 a month. Vantage, Cloudchipr, and Datadog publish their prices, and DoiT has a free Essentials plan. The others price by quote or through cloud marketplace listings. See LevelFour pricing.
