AI now sits on most technology bills, and it bills unlike anything else there. Model APIs charge by the token, prices change with each model release, and one new agent loop can double a team's spend within a week. A FinOps tool for AI has to read those bills, split them by model, key, and team, and help you spend less on them.

We looked at ten tools through each vendor's own documentation and pricing pages, as of October 2026: which AI bills each one reads, how much detail it gives, how it allocates spend, what it can change for you, and how it charges. We make LevelFour, so it comes first. Each claim about the other nine links to that vendor's page.

## 1. LevelFour

LevelFour is one system of record for Cloud, SaaS, and AI spend, and it ships the savings it finds.

- AI billing from OpenAI (the API, ChatGPT Enterprise, and Codex), Anthropic (the Claude API, Claude Enterprise, and Claude Code), Cursor, DeepSeek, and AI compute providers such as Hugging Face, Modal, Baseten, CoreWeave, and Nebius, next to AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, and SaaS such as Datadog and Snowflake.
- AI bills by model and key, and usage by person and team. LevelFour reads usage metrics such as tokens and models; your prompts and responses stay in your tools.
- Virtual tags that allocate every provider to your teams: one rule can give team=Payments an AWS account, an OpenAI project, and an Anthropic workspace.
- Savings applied in your cloud with write access scoped to that one change, or shipped as an infrastructure-as-code pull request your engineers merge, including AI workloads such as Bedrock throughput and idle Vertex AI notebooks. Savings Audit then confirms each saving on your bill.
- Budgets, forecasts, and anomaly alerts in Slack, Microsoft Teams, Jira, or any webhook, and an MCP server for Claude Code, Cursor, and other MCP clients.

Pricing: Cloud Savings costs 30% of realized savings, and nothing if nothing is saved. Plans that include AI spend start at $30 a month. [See pricing](https://levelfour.ai/pricing.md).

Best for: teams that want AI and cloud spend allocated in one place and the savings shipped for them.

## How to choose

Start from the bill you need to explain. If most of your AI spend goes to the OpenAI and Anthropic APIs, look for direct connectors and API-key detail. If it runs through Bedrock or Vertex AI, compare how each tool allocates the cloud bill. If GPUs drive the cost, look at the Kubernetes tools. Then decide how much you want the tool to change for you, from reports and tickets to savings applied on your behalf.
